35 years ago social workers and Industrialists of Indore established the Sadachar Samiti. They started the meal packet scheme for destitute and poor people in the 1400 bedded government M.Y.Hospital in Indore, India. They went around the hospital from one patient’s bed to another and gave food packets for Rs.1 to the attendant and family of the poor patients.
The org. started with distributing 100 packets daily in one hospital. But today, Sadachar Samiti distributes more than 2000 packets daily in M.Y. hospital and 5 other charitable hospitals of Indore. They also distribute the food packets in 10 different areas of the city through their own distribution channels to the needy and poor.
The main object of this organization is that ‘Nobody who is incapable of earning income due to health, old age, disability, etc. should not sleep hungry.’
The organization's principles are of the highest standard. They work on the thought that contributes to the organization in terms of money or kind should not be misused in any way.
As written in ‘Vedas’ and different cultural books – ‘Donors give money with full faith in the receiver and hence they will receive 100% ‘Punya’. But if the receiver of the donation misuses the funds, he will be part of ‘Paap’.
The organization’s uniqueness lies in its no holiday policy. The dedicated staff has never taken a holiday in 30 years be it Holi, Diwali, Birthday, etc. The organization has made 2000 food packets daily for the past 30 years. The food packet consists of 4 rotis and 1 sabzi. The cost of this packet is Rs.8 but we distribute the food packets at a minimum price of Rs.1 to the needy. It is distributed through 10 different centers throughout the city to reach the destitute people in the city and achieve our objective of ‘Nobody in the entire city should sleep hungry’.
